A nice bike that I've ridden extensively to make up for the aboveI have...
Carrera here are a brand that is derided in the UK. I say this to them.
I've a 708 Randonneur, two 708 Royals, a 531 Royal and a 531 Touriste. The Tanneri is as good as all of them, I've toured on it, I've beat the crap out of it off road where I've should be on a mountain bike. It just works.
Bought for £53 off eBay. I did just enough to make it work. I ran it for a year and it was knackered. New tyres, tubes, headset, bottom bracket, chainrings, chain, cassette, pads, cable's.
Used for another year, then replaced the wheels and the bars and stem with some flared gravel bars because they work and they were cheap, Thomson seat post so my fat arse doesn't snap it, now 9 speed Sora instead of 8 speed Claris. I actually bought another I love it that much, sold the parts and kept the frameset with a nice new FSA headset, this is coming after the accidental Royal.

Sadly not, I managed to scan some of the pictures from the photo albums at my parents but they stored them in the shed for unknown reasons (while moving house) and the shed leaked
most of the pictures of my motorcycles and all my other bicycles were ruined and gone forever, they had three very thick albums too. Bloomin tragic, final and totally avoidable.That bike weighed a bloomin tonne but it's more about the timing right? I'd had better bikes than that but that was the first bike I went pretty far from home on (either alone or with friends but not family members) and enabled me to do stuff. Also Nicole Kidman in BMX Bandits would have totally been my bird if she would have seen me on that and kitted out like that, forget the heckin Marina.

Love the photo! Sorry to hear you lost a load of others. Such a shame!
But as long as you’ve still got your memory you can still reminisce, plus you will always be /have cooler things in your head with the rise-tinted filter applied!
Just gotta not slip off the saddle but I learned that a long time ago
