Benotto Cromor question

Tubing seems to be Columbus TSX with its spiral tubing

It's not Columbus TSX, which had rifling on the inside of the tubes (SLX/SPX had this at the butts, TSX throughout the entire length).

This external rifling isn't like any Columbus tubing I've seen - they've done star-profiled tubing with 4 and 5 points, crazy 'MS' tubing with unusual profiles, 'Max' flared tubes, I've seen 'crimped tubing in multiple flavours of Columbus (Cromor, SL, etc), but nothing like this.

I'd put money on it being from another supplier.

Yep it's not TSX......it's Cromor
If it's Cromor, someone other than Columbus did that, after they bought the tubeset. I.e. a builder bought regular tubes from Columbus, then rifled them, before building. Columbus are notorious for having hundreds of tubeset names (many are just the same set, with a different name for a manufacturer) - if they'd done that, they'd have created yet another tubeset name for it!

Sorry to bump such an old post. I have stumbled upon a barnfind Benotto, sporting the same wonky tubing as the bike in your pictures. I was hoping you might help me in my quest on finding the type/building year of this bike! The components seem to be a very weird mix of cheap (modern) and quality (original).

Kind regards, Floris
