thanks for all the input and yes i got it wrong its xt not xtr.
so the spline is right for the bb.
im starting to think now of just going for a hope bb a single ring and a 10 or 11 speed cassette and new cranks to suit the bb.
everything is period to 2006/7.
im not trying to keep it period because its running an ohlins rear after the 5th element died.
im just trying to get it to a point if in 2 years i need to replace something im not going to have to strip the bike again and start updating the bike just to get it back up and running again.
if i go for a complete setup single ring new cranks etc is there anything you would recommend as a good solid set up?
