Just starting to cable up and pondering whether I should use the stem cable guide ( it wasn't used before) and how long the cable outer needs to be ( below shown for illustration so you can tell me how much I need to lop off)

I like to keep it a nice smooth curve, think you could probably take a little off that so it doesn't go too up then down, if you know what I mean

On my Yeti, I wanted to use the noddle of the FTW stem. So, there’s a housing running fromthe stem to the brace of the fork. And it works fine

Am I being really thick?? Setting up the cantilever brakes threading the cable through the stem. When the suspension is compressed the cable tension is lost and so is the brakes...what have I done wrong?

You can't use the stem as a cable guide with suspension forks. It needs to feed directly into the fork for that reason.

Done and working...was being a bit thick after all
