Weather is going to be crap this weekend, fancy a blast though. Usual place, cuppa tea and a flapjack 10ish Trailmix.

Weather -

Sunday
Rain clearing
Min: 16°C Max: 24°C

I'd be keen for a Sunday am mission but am probably looking at an early start. More like a 10am finish! Domestic duties & all...

Looking forward to unveiling the new 'beast'...

I'm up for sunday, can do an early start too!

Have no new 'beast' like Arran, but do have tales of a new frame i've bought :D

I can do early if Mark can, are you man enough lad to ride half cut hehe! What time you thinking Arran? Meet you there about 8??

and oooh i do love the intrigue?? it will be like show and tell!

8am would be perfect. Might be meeting up with a Mate that lives out that way to add to the posse...

No 'mystery' re; the bike...

:D

8am??? Jeez! I guess i can do that, I'll have to make sure not to drink too much the night before...

Am going to watch Eddie Izzard at the Palais so may still have a couple of shandies tho

What time shall I meet you Skinny, I'll be packing my bag the night before so i'm up and ready in time!

BTW Arran veeeeery nice. Have you ridden it in anger yet? Just thinking maybe the stem looks a bit long like mine was? After I fitted the shorty one, the bike came alive.

As Mark knows, I have never been happy with the performance of these brakes i put on recently, thought the pads looked a little glazed and basically on a full handfull the back would never lock. Changed the pads today for some XTR ones, so we'll see about VFM tomorrow hehe

It's been raining pretty hard all day & if it keeps up overnight I might have to give it a miss.

yeah i was thinking the same, Lysty's a bog at the best of times. Will text you when i get out of bed for an update!

since the weather was crap this morning I had a nice lie in and when i arose the weather wasn't to bad! Giddy up I thought, so hoiked over to Lysty for a cheeky run, did a different route to usual and took in the quarry track valley view, games track and then down to the lake via the Hug. The place was empty, i saw maybe half a dozen lads on bikes, Trail mix was closed!! no coffee shattered!

Anyway i wanted to testride a few goodies I got recently. All i can say is get a dropper seat post. Up hills is fully extended as usual, down hills and switchbacks drop it and you have much more confidence to really throw it into corners and over stuff.

New pads were a godsend, pretty hairy in places today, these new ones bedded in pretty quickly after a few hard stoppies.

Considering the deluge we had in the last few days, the trails were in great shape, well drained.

So there it is, carpe diem and you get rewarded with an empty park and not bad weather! I met the mrs after the ride in Coles to do the shopping covered in mud hehe the looks i got with a skunk ass stripe and tide lines where my socks were!
