Hi, really interested in this but in order to make
sure I'm going to get value for money, as you say
£2k for a £6.5K bike is good value I was wondering
if you could go through your spend with me? In
your add it says you spent £2350 on the Rear Mech,
Rims, Frame and Forks. I just wondered if you
could run down the other £4150 that was spent on
it. Sorry to ask, it's the accountant in me trying
to balance if I should buy this or not. Thanks

Can't wait for the reply.

And the reply

Yes, firstly the bike itself cost in 1997 £2,500,in America they retailed for less, but as usual paid more over here, the price for the frame is what they were stripped, without nothing on it at all, the rims were actually £750.00, as soon as I bought them they dropped in price, titanium post and bar set were £500.00, same with the rear mech, it was nearlly £1,000, but is completely unique, a bit like American Chopper, the rapid fires and chainset etc were again £1250 plus, the bike is in unused condition, I can provide reciepts from the bike shop that built it for me, labour amounted to a couple of hundred pounds.

So Ti bar and post £500, the rear mech has gone up to £1000 now but totally unique! But my favourite, £1250 for Rapid fires and a chainset!!!!!!!!
He has receipts so I'm tempted for copies...........

It also states in the CONDITION section that this bike is brand new UNOPENED and still in original PACKAGING, well how can it be???? if thats the bike in the garden its been opened taken out of the box and packaging and BUILT up as bikes do not come built up like that!!!!
I have also sent 2 questions to this idiot asking basicly the same question regading figures also asked why it has 2 diffrent coloured tyres on it, guess what............................................ no reply!!!

so thought i'd try for a bit more info with this

Dear cldtradingco,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. As you can
appreciate £2000 is a lot for a mtb but i'm so
tempted. Can you possibly supply me with a full
breakdown of all the components on the bike, i.e
Bar, Stem, Seat, Seat post, Front and Rear mech,
chainset etc. Many thanks sorry to a pain once
again but I really do have to make sure. Many
thanks.

and received this reply

Sorry, can not give exact parts, BUT in 1997 everything was the best money could buy, there is definately no inferior quality parts, unless someone wants to buy it, I do not want to get it out of its vacuum pack, I can appreciate £2,000 is a lot of money, but my wife never really new how much I spent on this bike, it cost more than my Bandit powered trike. Again have been asked about the picture, bike was ridden once to work, 4 mile round trip, the next day I was involved in a RTA, bike was vacuum packed and stored, to be used again, but I am now in my 40's and can not physically do the bike justice.

- cldtradingco

Amazing considering it's stated as brand new unopened yet done 4 miles round the block.

Well this is just the reply i have got back from him, only answering half the questions of course.

The picture of the bike is the day I recieved it from being built to my spec, the reason for the odd tyres, rear one is a different pattern for extra traction, the front is a less course tread pattern, in 1997 you could not get both the tyres in green, the bike was ridden 4 miles, the day of pictures, the next day I was in a RTA, bike was vacuum packed by my wife and put up the loft 13 years ago, ebay descriptions are very hard to update or tune, but I believe the bike is in complete time warp condition and could easily be used as a museum show item or equally ridden, the frame is as it left the factory, if you are genuinely interested, then phone, regards, Tony.

So to me that bike is NOT new and it has been opneded and taken out of its packaging and it has even been RIDDEN!!!!!!!!!!!
