Attention, Scottish retrobikers (pronunciation help needed)

I believe liberal consumption of the stuff helps with the pronunciation.

Hey, I wonder if that is where the Scottish accent came from ; liberal quantities of alcohol ?

I did not realise we only have the one accent.

Perhaps you misunderstand me, it is a logical thought based upon my own experience in that I can understand people better when I am drunk, I can also pronounce and imitate some of the most difficult dialects when the lubrication is being used heavily.

When I drink my accent breaks up into it's most dominant intonation and people actually think I come from Ireland, when I have never been to the place.

Although communication is oft a problem for me, I am fascinated with language.

No, you just think you do. The same way that you suddenly think you can dance or that you can take on the doorman.

Lead-aa-g
Lead as in the metal or led as in to be led along the garden path

Of course i could have it totally wrong.

Best ask for it in the above term and if you get funny looks then spell it for them. They'll give you the proper pronunciation.

Oh but I can dance, rather well in fact as so I am told as to taking on doormen, I rarely partake of places that require door men and like as not would not be let in anyhows.

Led-chig. Or Led-shig. It can be hard to explain some sounds to non Scots.

The SH is a relatively long sound, if it was German it would probably be spelt Ledschig.
