Anyone that writes home owners or renter insurance should be able to write you a rider on your policy that would cover your bike(s) and personal property.
I used to be with Cycle Guard who are the company that British Cycling use for their insurance, however this year I when through British Cycling as opposed to buying direct from Cycle Guard and saved about 40% of the renewal price.

Insurance and good are mutually exclusive.
Buy a decent bike lock, lock it in your house to another bike upstairs. Tell the Mrs the situation isn't negotiable. Job jobbed.
