I don't post here much because of statements like these. I'm not intending to this to be the final word on this argument that's been beaten to a a thousand deaths on this forum, but anyone who truly feels this way is kidding themselves or not making the bike go fast enough to notice the difference.
Vintage bikes are fun to ride. Like singlespeeds (I can only assume), poor brakes, bad tires, suspect shifting adds an element to my rides that I don't find on my modern bikes. This is the reason I ride my vintage bikes... because they underperform.
