Work have told me my job is relocating there and I don't know too much about it.

Where is good to live (that isn't going to get flooded) and is there any decent cycling to be had round there? As far as I can see it is all flat :?

Your about 45mins from me for riding

Speak to MJN, lewis1641, Andy B and longun; their all up Scunny way.

*waves*

I'm in Grimsby, used to work in Scunny ages ago so no up to date info.

There are hills if you know where to look, ok it's not Wales or Scotland sized hills, but still enough for a fun ride.

I think that a 'welcome' ride in the area might be in order (although this statement in no way means I can organise it as I don't know the trails round Scunny that well)

The other Scunny lads will be able to help you more.

depending on where your moving from it may be a shock. Nice Vee dub main agent there though, I have bought two off of them now.

Hi,I live on the edge of Scunny in Bottesford, quite a nice area and no risk of flooding,we're at the top of a hill.
There is some fairly decent riding round here but it can take some finding! The other good thing is its less than an hour to the Peaks and only just over an hour to the North Yorkshire Moors/Dalby forest.
There is also a Track in town with a regular Friday night track league and 2 local road clubs, both fairly small though!
It might look flat but you'll be suprised :D

It is not as bad as you may think. Within 15 minute ride of any part of the town you are in open fields. There are plenty of trails but you'll regularly need to use the road to link them. Areas to avoid are riddings, westcliff and the town centre. Not exactly the bronx but not particularly nice. Having said that there are no areas of scunthorpe that i'd be scared to walk around on my own at night. If you need any specific help drop me a pm and i'll see what i can do. The other good thing is that it is a smallish town surrounded by lots of villages so you don't have to live there to work there.i'm not from scunthorpe, i live in brigg about 10 miles away but i'll help how i can. I'll ride with you too but i'm pretty steady!
