What's wrong with a classic volvo! Carry bikes without even removing the wheels, sleep in them at races! Perfect....That's pretty cool, my dad had Volvos .
I love a lot of Volvo's, especially an estate. Sadly the best my Dad had in the 80s/90s is a 340, but it was the little 1.3 engined one. You couldnt sleep in that so comfortably. A small engined 440 was among the underpowered culprits. What's wrong with a classic volvo! Carry bikes without even removing the wheels, sleep in them at races! Perfect....
Mine was slightly messed about with when I got it (Scorpio seats and door cards) so i dont feel too bad in adding bits from the brochure. My car is all orginal and I try to keep it that way. It has done 44.000km. It feels and looks like the car in the brochure. I think the GL spec car in mainland Europe sat somewehere between GL and Ghia in UK. My first Ford experience was my dad's Sierra 1.3 Custom in 1982. It looked like a car from the future. After 1 or 2 years Ford dropped the 1.3. It had only 60hp.
That is very cool! As it was the last of them, I can't turn up at your door demanding you fix your shoddy workmanship when the ECU goes to shit I suppose. Mine's pre the final revision. Damn!Worked on the last of the 2.0 DOHC engine management system in the Granada (and Sierra) as part of m6 first job after university. Also worked on the cooling system of the Scorpio (yes the bug-eyed monster that followed the Granada, not the posh trim level of the Granada Scorpio).
Happy memories.
