hi folks, have my eyes on a new project, but the frame is from a comapny called "Marisa", I woud guess, late 70's early 80's. Has anyone ever heard of this make ? I'm in belgium so maybe its a handmade belgium frame ? but I've tried google.be with no luck. Any info would be much appricated.

I had a look via google too and found this address for a bike shop called
Marisa in Oudergem in the outskirts of Brussels. No website or anything so it's not clear they even exist, but there's a chance they made your bike (or at least put their stickers on it):

I saw a very nice grey one of these for sale on a Belgian site, but too big for me. Is that the one you're interested in?

cheers Johnny, yeah the one on the belgian site is what I'm going for, pick it up tomorrow, will post a few pics here over the weekend.

Thanks for the effort, will have a chat with the guy selling it and see if he knows the history. He seems to be a bit of a classic trader, he has a few items for sale.

picked it up this evening, my what a frame, lovely lug detail, and perfect paint. According to the seller ( a bit of a belgian classic bike nut !) the Marisa was indeed a shop outside brussels, that made their onw in house frames. Shop closed down in the early 80's. This bike is supposed to be 1976, I'll upload propper pics over the weekend. just have to stop drooling all over it first.

Nice work, can't wait to see the photos. Someone should do a list of
all these obscure Belgian frame builders. There are some nice bikes out
there but they don't get enough credit.

ok ok ....... finally (after many months ) I got off my ass and took some pictures, here she is in all her glory, I really love this bike, but I think some polished rims would finish it off nicely

Yes, some proper shiny rims would look very good on there. Shouldn't be
too hard to find some, they come up on the Belgian second hand sites
every so often.

Maybe a new saddle? A white Selle Regal would look very cool on that bike.
