Anyone admit to owning just one bike ?

At least 2 of the 4 have got to due to down sizing, if there was space for them all to be sitting warm and dry in a garage they would all stay.

Needs must...

I think we all start with one bike and then it gets a bit out of hand as they are all ride differently and don't take up so much room especially when wheels are removed and stems/bars turned etc. I currently have eight bikes. They are not really decreasing in value and having so many 'spreads the wear' so to speak meaning maintenance such as transmission replacement never becomes a major issue. Two of the bikes are used exclusively in the winter months; the first is a fixed gear road bike and the second is a hub gear commuting bike. The rest of the fleet is available for use during the rest of the year. I don't keep my bikes in the same place either, at least four are stored in the attic out of sight.

It was a tongue in cheek question as to if it's possible to own and ride one bike.

I'm moving into a small place, less storage, less time, and 4 bikes take up too much room, and was wondering if having one is a pipedream.

And this site is Retrobike NOT Retrobikes after all.
I have a bike made by pipedream, a nice steel 853 number, 26 inch wheels too, but not retro.

Why not make your pipedream a pipedream ;)

On a serious note, I've tried and failed to downsize, but will be trying a bit harder this year to do so. Not a prayer of getting down to one, maybe 5 or 6.

If I had to go down to one rider, I'd probably find a way to make the others wall art in the man cave.

When I got back into riding a few years ago, I started of with just 1 bike, (A Trek mountain track 850) I was told it wouldn't stay as 1 bike, many purchases and sales later, im currently at 5 bikes and 1 e stay frame, damm you @legrandefromage

I do. One bike here. It´s bliss... even going through the hoops to find replacements for a vintage ride. It´s not the best, not the most expensive but it´s a pretty cool vintage bike. Just do it.

I've got one which is a fully working bike at the minute,so in theory only have one bike or that's what i tell myself 😁 But i've also got over 30 others in various build states 😂

I have 5 keepers and 3 that I'm selling. The trouble is that no one is buying anymore. I don't think I could get down to 1 if I tried. I wouldn't know which to keep anyway.
