Flicked through Pinkbike photo album and haven't found you the definative answer but:

This is the earlier version: https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl= ... mrc&uact=8

YES, this is an earlier version with the strengthening hole in the frame, mine has the riveted "tubing" guides in the upper run on the left, and standard cable stops just below for the front mech.

This shows the rear disk mount holes as per yours (if you look closely): https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/12134470/

This Weasel shows split outer run with V Brakes: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5168041/

Similar disk adapter but on the forks: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/12134452/

Maguras going through the cable guides (I guess your frame is setup like this: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/15452304/

YES, mine is EXACTLY like this, and unless you can run full housing from the lever to the vee noodle, magura's it shall be.....

And another pic of the above because it's lovely and other than the long stem very good inspiration for you: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/14936679/

AND now im on the hunt for a riser bar as well, lol

Another with maguras: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/14296365/

thanks for all the help, I think it will turn out really sweet when I get everything sorted

Sweet frame! Well jealous. What shock is fitted to it please?
Kes

it's a Fox R? im at work, can check this evening and correctly identify...

*****ok, fully identified, its a Fox RX Vanilla, with a Mountain Speed by Eibach spring 450x62 eye to eye measures 7-1/4" *****

Re:

ok, next issue.....the frame came to me with only a couple ratty headset cups, so I popped them out with a headset cup remover and when they came out they have "adapters" on them......set them aside a few days ago on my workbench and sprayed some pb blaster on them hoping to break them apart but so far no go, and last night I measured with a caliper and the "adapter" outside diameter is 1.45

brought them in to work with me, but forgot my caliper, but using a straight edge the actual cup seems to be 1-1/4 +/- so now I am totally puzzled.

I would have thought at 96 they would have at most been 1-1/4 to 1-1/8 but it seems they are 1.5 to 1.25 ? and me without a single front fork with a 1-1/4 steerer, lol.............

so anyone know what the original spec was on these ?

****update-it seems as if these are standard 37mm to 34mm adapters ie:1-1/4” yo 1-1/8” so i just ordered up a fresh set to install the new orbit mx headset*****

Is the hole an 'early/late' thing? I thought it was just an 18" frame thing all the way through.

My rear swing arm was the same, drilled for a disk mount, I ran a Hope set-up on mine. Up front was a normal 1 1/8 headset fitted with headset reducer cups.

Here are my two (now long sold away).... you can see the disk mount on the back of the yellow frame.

very nice !!! and inspiring......no disc wheels at the moment but is that a Foes specific rear mount, or a "early disc caliper" mount.....just wondering how to search as nothing on "Foes disc mount" has popped up so far

I see you were running air shocks on those, was that standard or? mine has a more crude fox rx /spring seems to measure 7.5" give or take eye to eye

thanks again
