Any love for my one owner 1993 Marin Palisades Trail?

I had one with the matt grey saucepan paint and yellow forks. Was a great bike for the money. Sadly as it was over 25 years ago I have no idea what happened to it. Probably somewhere at my parents.

Just picked up a 16” version off e bay for £25 after a tip off on here, even has a girl in flex stem, probably worth the 25 alone!
Dying to get out on it but the rear shifter is shafted so do you know what series it is or number can’t seem to find it on mine.

Also is it cassette or screw on freewheel?

Might be easier to convert to 8 speech than find a 7 speed shifter

I bought this brand new back in the day and was my only bike before joining Retrobike and as such this one is now relagated to being left at work and only used whilst there.

Had a day of bikes today, amongst other things I fitted some period correct foam grips and some original bar ends... sadly I’ve noticed they aren’t the same/correct colour - oh well. I’m looking forward to riding with the new bar ends, I’ve really missed them for climbing and downhills...
