Any good recommendations for paint stripper for older paint

Got a proflex 857 that is sporting less than good paint....lots of stone chips and scratches. I really want to strip it and polish it and add new decals but the paint stripper I've got doesn't even touch it. It's likely meant for modern water based stuff. Does anyone know of a brand that works well on retro paint that's still available? I really don't want to have to sand off more paint than I have too.

Look for stripper containing methylene chloride. It's hard to find as it was banned by the EPA but you can get it on some industrial websites.
