another Welsh mission, anyone fancy meeting up?

Sorry I missed you guys...I had some serious issues dragging myself out of bed. I'd also forgotten jus how far CYB is from me too.

I still made it over and had a great ride on the Beast although I hate the big climb up to the Adams Family sections. When we went in Jan, we cut out the official bit leading up to it and carried on up the road. I decided that I wanted to do the full thing today and kind of wished I hadn't. That bit is just fire road climbing. At least the views were a amazing.

Cheeky pic (hope you don't mind)

Couldn't believe how quiet the trails were when the car park was pretty full. The Adams family sections were awesome fun as were the two early rocky bits (servants tail and the but before it).

Re:

glad you got out to ride though! :D maybe next time!

and Rich, the buckshaver is going nowhere!! :D

Re:

I've only just seen this thread, but obviously knew you'd met the girlie's, as Kt e-mailed me on the day.

She and Chrissy really love their cycling and Kt is turning into a force to be reckoned with. Not so long ago she had trouble keeping up with me, now the boot is very much on the other foot, and I'm looking forward to watching her 'whoopass' at Mayhem.

It is soul destroying following her onto a climb, as I reach for an easier gear or three, she just stands up and pedals off.

BTW, she takes after her mum, who was a quick back in the early 90's as Kt is now.

Sounds like you has a awesome trip, I must get over there myself sometime.... just not with my daughter.

Re:

yeah that first climb, Katie just pedalled away from me, i think she has a 38t top ring (duo chainset) and i think she was on it all the way to the first singletrack section, i was spinning mid ring (32t) first, Chrissy had stopped to adjust her saddle, so she was behind me, initially i thought i should wait for her but when Katie was cruising up the climb i thought hmm . . . better just keep pedalling otherwise i'll get dropped again. not long after that we settled into a nice rhythm on the various sections.

it was a good day, bumped into Chrissy at Coed Y Brenin aswel this morning after i had finished riding with Rich, so we had another chat.

it's cool to see girls on bikes, especially when they can ride well.

i am working on mayhem weekend this year so not doing it although i think it falls on a day to night transition which means i finish at 5pm on one day then start a nightshift the next day at 5pm so i may pop up on the motorbike just for the night in between the shifts, just for the banter though :D
:D
