another water test - 16-17" modern hardtail wanted

As in title... just window shopping though...

after helping my mate Ron upgrade his '04 GT hardtail with nicer brakes & forks he's only gone and had the bleeder nicked, so am looking on his behalf for a nice hardtail (GT or WHY?) with up to £350 budget... poss touch higher if worth the extra (isn't it always?!)

must have decent forks and hydraulic brakes and be in at least very good nick (I can finish it off if needs be)
