another cycle shop closure: Bicycle co. Staines

With respect to the thread title “another cycle shop closure” Is this one of many cycle shops that has closed recently?
Are these physical shops victims of the online cycle shops.?

simple economics, reduction in income and impossible business rates. Bike shops are a stock heavy business, however repairs are increasingly important.

I was in my LBS the other day, I asked how the Christmas trade was going and Ian the manager said 'quiet'.

I remember only a handful of years ago when people would have been queuing out the door on Christmas eve, to pick up the bikes they had bought as pressies for their kids. I don't know if the trade has gone somewhere else, I can't see it, as the town has the same number of bike shops it always has had, more likely parents just don't buy bikes for the kids any more, just computer games, and chocolate... no wonder we have clinically obese kids entering primary schools.
