I had a great weekend at SSUK 2015.
...Thanks to Brian for coming down with me and keeping me awake, coffeed...

I think I did a really good job with the coffeeing up of Jamie.

He was up at 6am, delivered Velo to Thirsk, came back for me, drove 550 miles, but still was posting stuff up here at 1:00am. :)

I removed a cartridge bottom bracket the brutal way and the frame survived
I've had an extremely battered Diamondback Sorrento for a couple of years now with a totally seized in bottom bracket, cartridge type. The BB did work but it finally started to fail so I decided it must be removed. Penetrating oil - total failure; hold the removal tool in with a bolt - total failure; extreme leverage on the spanner onto the tool with length of pipe - total failure; etc etc etc :(

Hmmmmmmm..............lie the fame on its side on a block of wood and knock BB axle through cartridge bearings with a big hammer without busting the frame...........unlikely.

I did that anyway, battering the fook out of the axle and it worked and then I had to cut the cups out with a hacksaw which did damage the threads but a threadless (threads to itself) cartridge BB will sort that.

RESULT :D

Ahhh , I never knew you could get such a thing as a threadless cartridge BB.., even Tesco sell em :-) :-)

today I received rim tape, valves and sealant - going to try out this new fangled tubeless malarky
