Today I finished stitching together the accomodation aspects of my Belgian SS holiday at the end of April. Isn't the internet wonderful, I've booked nights with the Netherlands, flemish and Wallonian YHA's from my desk at work. The Netherlands and Belgian railways sites are equally easy to use plus distances between places are seldom further than Glasgow to Edinburgh and cost less than here

Just need to save up the spending cash now and deal with the trains this side of the north sea :roll:

That sounds great Buzz, are you in the police or is it a community type thing? A mate up here does the police bike runs occasionally, their "shared" bikes are in a terrible state as they are kept outside, I think the regular riders keep care of theirs though.

I'm a Community Warden - Cube Aim due on monday - just a shame I couldn't stretch the budget to a Surley - thankfully the bikes aren't for sharing so wont get trashed - the guy i'll be working with is a fellow MTB'r and he knows of a few local trails that I don't so definitely going to get a bit fitter

Took a look at the cube aim and its not too bad for the money.Plus many LBS staff i know rate the frames quite highly too
It's bottom of the range groupo[albeit a bit of a mix]but at least its not tourney all the way

Singlespeed nightride on the Humu in driving rain and gale force wind. Clobbered a fallen tree with my elbow which is now swollen and then got jumped by a drunken tramp in the woods on the way home. He was hiding behind a bush. Shat myself. Rode really fast home then hid under the bed.

Had a wee try at the bike chain and have to agree that the frame felt good - was a 20 i tried so the 22 on order should suit my height better

An 8'x4''x1" plywood sheet fell on me today .
I didn't stand a chance,wind caught it and it landed on me ,I had my back to it,so it was a bit of a surprise to say the least.

What's this!!!.....Ay!!! ....AGGGHH

Got these from ebay this week:

Any Marzocchi experts on here. I thought they were 1999 Z1 Drop-offs and the legs are stamped '98, the brace '99. Problem is that as far as I know 99 drop-offs have 130mm travel and these look a bit short - noticably shorter compared to pictures online. Did they come in 2 travel lengths then, or have I maybe got normal z1 internals in drop-off lowers?
