And today I did......

Went to Drumlanrig today to shakedown the Dale WW. :D Lots of good and some bad!

Trails were ace, a great day for the soul, fairly dry and sun dappled. Hardly touched by the weather.

I think Drumlanrig lives in some magical bubble that's exempt from the Scottish climate. Fair wish I'd been able to take the day off now... next time, more notice! ;)

dialed in my gears. ready to ride. Wrapped the Kestrel frame in bubble wrap and put on top of the wardrobe.

Helped a friend clean and tidy his workshop in prep for some clients.
They want Whiskey cases for individual bottles
A bottle of this stuff costs £5000   its a 70yrold, laid down in 1940.

Unfortunately its highly unlikely i'll get a nip.

And also unfortunately it put a hell of a strain on my Achilles tendons, and im limping about in pain :(
Seems walking or standing puts more strain on them than cycling :?
Thank god.

Crappest of crap days. Knackered from yesterdays trip, discovered that the van needs two new injectors at £700 each plus a fuel rail at £600. Then got home to find a letter explaining that the flood defences that we have been promised for three years have been scrapped. Switched the telly on to see our next door neighbour talking about how his insurance has just gone up from £320 to £3,900 a year as a result.
Switched that off, went into garage to fit new cranks and BB that CRC have sent after a week to find that they sent the wrong cranks and wrong BB.

To top it all of i have just burnt my thumb cooking supper.

Going to bed before anything else shit happens. Tax return to do tommorrow.

Glum.

~That is really shit about the flood defences Si - the rest is bad of course. Is this cut backs or have they sited other reasons?

£4000 for insurance - you could probably build personal flood defences for that.

Well the SAB has landed with its new owner and he's happy with it, hopefully it will see trails alot sooner now than when I had it. This gives me the green light to spend to money though :D today I was perusing road frames, never mind selling a fat and buying an on one what about selling a FAT and buying a carbon Planet X roadie!

Also picked up a new pair of retro speakers for my going backwards hi fi, some 80's wharfedales, cool in a retro wooden box kinda way.
