why would you buy one of those chief
even si hates it

think he liked it was just too small, I've always hankered after a big hit or the like, this was billed as a freeride light so ideal for gnarlier Scottish trails. Not really needed and probably more bike than I've got testicles but you know what its like :p The wee jump bike will do for now, I got some new forks for it so I'll get them on soon.

Not so much the fact the Banshee too small Kaiser, rather that the geometry is crap. All these hard hitting, super slack bikes that are coming out, they are all hampered with steep seat angles in an attempt to make them climbers. Who the feck wants to even attempt to pedal one of these 170mm behemoths with super tacky 2.5 tyres for more than 100 yds anyway?

Take 2 deg off the seat angle and it would be half decent. Add another inch to the BB height and it would be perfect (i have never had so much pedal strike and have had to go to 160mm cranks).

A lucky escape methinks Klaus.

Anyhoo. My new AMP B3 project finally arrived today. Frustratingly just 10 mins before i left work, so not had much chance to look at it. Should be nice though with the silly AMP fork, early Hope brakes and Ti-Glide wheels. I'm looking forward to making a start on it on monday. Looking tight to have it ready for Dunkers though. We shall see. Depends on workload next week.
Speaking of which, going on the phonecalls i have had from potential 'customers' this week, we must have had a mention on www.fuckinglegdraggingmoron.com or something. It must be national stupid **** week or something. Everyone of them an idiot of varying degrees of stupidity.

2.5 hours up the Pentlands today, first time on bike since shoulder op... held up well, although I seem to have misplaced my single-speed legs

Conditions were not bad... not too muddy, since it was still mostly frozen. Not too treacherous either, with a only a few patches of ice in places.

I have to say, lightweight is the way to go. Enjoyed the Fat, will need a few more runs to form an opinion. Possibly a tad small, although that does have it's advantages, felt very chuckable. Forgot about wanting some wide bars after about 30 minutes, so that can't be a bad thing either.

Bike held up well, funny noise from the front like something snapping when I bottomed out in a ditch, but couldn't find anything obviously broken... spokes OK, as was the Ti QR. Felt OK afterwards.

Today was a good day.

Nice one ZZ :D looking even better dirty  good to know it doesn't fit ;) Could the noise be the headset seating? Is it a wee bit slack now?
