And today I did......

This must be a common problem and thus there must be legal ways around it. The law surely cant do you for no tax if you need an MOT to get tax otherwise its a catch 22. Possibly if you book your car in and get the booking confirmed in writing then if when driving to the MOT station you are stopped you can prove you have a ligitimate excuse.

Probably talking poo but there must be a way :?

The huge irony is that I'm having to move it from the yard it is stored in as the new tenants need the space.

The new tenants are??

A bloody MOT centre!!! Not open yet though, I may have a wee word with them when I get there. What I really need is one of those "guaranteed" MOT test for £100 that you used to be able to get if you knew the right people.

Tazio, I think you should have chucked 'alledged' into that last sentence somewhere, just in case 'the man' visits this site

However if you have't declared SORN you will get a fine (40-80quid) for not doing so as it is all electronic now.

I've just checked the regulations and right enough you can drive it to a pre arranged MOT test. Now I just have to find a garage with an offroad forecourt, which isn't easy in central Edinburgh. And possibly sell a kidney to afford it.

Oh bollocks! It's all piling up just now in terms of bills. I don't think I can afford to paint my Dunkers bike now, any saving helps

Ask Big Eck if he's got any spare paint lying around, you never know ;)

I'll just acquire some from work. Narrows colour choice down to what they have most of.

Financial ruin averted. They didn't realise it was my car and we're entitled to a certain number of parking spaces so i can leave it. If nothing else it's made me get my erse in gear and sort out my MOT so I can get to Dunkeld instead of panicking at the last minute.
