...went to swap the nipples on the weenie build. Found out the rear already had alo nips so no need to fanny about there. Swapped out the front :? new weight 751g this is without a 39g rimtape so effectively my wheel is 6g heavier with the alu nips. Oh and to top it off it ended up like a pringle  old light rims don't like being disturbed is seems. Pile of w@nk, these are the days you wonder why you bother!

pisser sorry to hear that man :x take a couple of days out and go and ride a modern bike to make yourself feel better.

i was quite alarmed at the weight of the bag of nips i got from e-bay
so much so that i took a file to one ,yup they seem to be ali

liking the new unibomber Eck, just needs a nice black stem with a cable guide/hole to finish her up

do syncros do a stem with the hole in it ? it'll need to be a-head too

you might struggle with a ahead stem with a hanger/hole- if it is 1 1/8th I think I have a cable hanger that slids down the steerer, if you know what I mean. Let me see if I have a stem had a rudd one on her originally but not sure if I sold her :?

i just had a thought , a girvin flexstem in black with the noodle

just fired up a wanted ad so will see

You'll be lucky to get an AHead Girvin flexstem, they're pretty rare, quill stems are common though. JD Components flex stems are more common in AHead but dont come with a canti hanger.

Personally I'd go for V-brakes or Maguras, both are retro enough ;)
