And today I did......

Mikee is Tintins 'Special' friend ;)

With the amount of precipitation and road salt around at the moment a plastic bike makes sense :D

Today I fixed the heating on my wee car which up to this point has had nae heating, BRRRRRRRRRRRR.

However the fix is in fact a bodge in that I removed the seized heater pipe valve and substituted a peice of pipe so now my heatings permanently on  This is a classic case of the old saying about if its not bust dont fix it being rubbish. The valve was the original factory installed unit from 10 years past and must've been fitted before the engine was inserted. The screw heads for the jubilee clips on the hoses were very difficult to reach without dislocating my arms. If a mechanic had ever done any maintenance on the heater valve its likely he would have made clip access more easy

In the spring I'll need to try a new bodge to switch the heating off. Also I cannot actually remove the old valve and its actuating cable because all screws are seized and cant be accessed without removing the entire dashboard cover. This cannot be done without removing the steering wheel and windscreen. Life can be such a challenge

Finished all christmas shopping and got a complete set of modern Shimano cantilever brakes with the alan key fitted pads for a fiver out of the bike station :D Also got a set of plastic brake levers for the weenie build that come out as 160g the pair with scope for further weight reduction for a quid !

Not a bad day

That cry's out to be SS'd with a 'phantom' chainring tensioner
