I've been so miserable with the cold I've not checked in for days. I think my 22 mile last chilly Sunday may have contributed to my downfall, but it was nice at the time.
Topically, I'm gathering bits for the build of my Kevin Winter Reynolds 725 frame. and have kept the sexy bronze-ringed Stronglight chainset to put on it, along with the road Maguras and 9-speed Campag Chorus bar-end shifters on the Deda ergo bars.
The frame is red with white lettering, and the cranks, bars, stem, and chainset are black. Would a leather(ette) Charge spoon and brown tape bring the bronze rings into the colourway?
I'll build it up minus tape and saddle and bring it to the group.
But as it is -1C in the garage I'll pass this weekend.
Boring anecdote follows: post undergraduate days I worked for Pilkingtons in Lancashire developing bending techniques for car windscreens using a special prototyping furnace that heated the glass up to about 670C. In the winter we would go in to the hanger in the morning and throw the switches to start heating things up, and the gauges would read the air temperature which was sometimes as low as -4C. Over the day we'd be sweating like pigs working on the furnace, then freezing as soon as we were about 10 feet from it. Everybody had colds all the time.
There was some purpose to telling that story but I've forgotten what it was.
