Yeah but realistically on a wet November morning is a Porsche or lotus going to start

Funny enough, during the big freeze in January both the wife's new Renault and my trusty Mercedes van failed to start on one particularly nasty morning. The Interceptor fired up first time. Getting 2 tonnes and 360bhp through the narrow snow covered roads of Morpeth was kinda interesting though.

One option is to buy a nice classic with it's zero depreciation, free tax and cheap insurance and buy a £300 banger for winter and workdays. I bought a Low milage X plate Alfa 156 Selespeed as a hack three years back for £300 and it's still going strong. It's got all the toys, leather, air con, sport pack etc and easily fits a bike on the back seat. Despite never being serviced, or washed for that matter it's been 100% reliable. If it breaks I will throw it away and get another.
We are in the age of the disposable motor car!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm the one with the dark hair was nice.

Correct.

Very correct in fact.

Anyone remember 'that girl' in the Smiths video?? I think it was How Soon is Now.
