And today I did......

Re:

Big climbing day today 2500 odd metres from Kyle of Lochalsh to Sheildaig via the Bealach na Ba pass and round the Applecross peninsula. Proper knackered!

Re:

nice one kaiser, have done that ride, it's an epic climb, 2500 feet non-stop from sea-level, and the descent down the other side is proper FAST! i remember two of us passing cars on the way down, whilst dodging the occasional wandering sheep!

stunning views too, if you get the weather

Re:

Had a wee ride round some of Blairadam to check out how it's fared after recent rain, it's no bad, a bit damp but no real mud, at least where I rode. Had to remove a fallen tree on OCP's A9 dualing project and a couple of other bits of maintenance elsewhere.

Ride was short due to my discovering Scotland were in to the final of the London Sevens having beaten England 17-0 on the way there :D . Played South Africa in final and were 26-15 down after South Africa scored with less than a minute and a half to go, they scored a try, converted it so it was 26-22. Less than 10 seconds remained but they kicked off, got the ball off South Africa and scored again to win 27-26  the same guy Dougie Fife scored them both. It's the first time a Scotland 7 has got to a final and they win it.

Watched most of the 7's today too, what a way to win their first tournament! It was one of those "destined to be" moments, never really in doubt

I didn't know it was on, only found out Scotland were in final because I looked at the BBC news website late on. Managed to see all the other finals too and the 3rd/4th decider. When South Africa scored with a minute and a half to go I was like Scott Hastings, thinking Scotland had blown it, no chance of scoring the needed 2 tries plus 1 conversion. To score one was brilliant but thought that's it, but then another with nae time left. Ya beauty. My daughter came running in to living-room wondering why I was shouting "Yaaaaaasssss".
