Went for a short ride round Blairadam, wasn't going to bother but it got to half 2 when I went in to panic mode thinking "why waste this sunshine, I'll manage an hour or so before my lassie gets home from school?"
Spent more time changing the line on the new start of the trail down to Triangle than riding.
Just before the new bit of trail joins the old trail there's a tree that's down over a ditch, it gets lower all the time, cut more branches off it today. But decided to make a new short detour, cut part of tree further along and instead of cutting left it heads straight on for a bit before cutting left to cross ditch. Needs tidying up but should avoid the need to duck under tree in future.
Sad day Rob, but one out always leaves room for one in
Still can't believe you ditched the pug though, you did some of your best riding on that bike. Some rides you didn't even fall off.
Spent the afternoon hooning around Glentress. Gorgeous day, fast trails. They're finally doing some new sections. There's a fantastic new red that replaces Pennels Vennel, just up from berm baby berm. It's steep and bermy a nice step up from bbb. Still a bit rough and loose in places but it'll ride in nicely.
Had a wee run on the new built Ti, with the 2x10. About 20 miles round trip, give of take.
But the first run out was good, the white bros carbon was a lot less harsh than I was expecting. Certainly less harsh than a pace even though the paces legs are thinner.
And the 185mm rotor capacity is spot on. Ive been running a 185/160 since 1998 and i wasnt sure how id get on 165/160
Im missing the 48t though especially on the long flats. 39 outer is a bit wee, but im sure ill get more use to it.Legs are not what they used to be.
Brakes need readjusted, a bit one sides on the rear :? Might have to shim to IS bit of the adaptor over 1/2mm more. and a wee bit of slack cables on the gears.
The new gears are a surprise to me. The XO ive fitted on the 2x10 performs less 'crisply' than the 3x9 on x9 shifters. Not sure why yet but it clunks home rather than the previous gentle click.
