And today I did......

Yeah, the pics look great and we are in Scotland, so if there is one thing to expect.........its rain :)
The bike looks brilliant as well as being a very high end looking piece of equipment. Sounds like a great day out, just a shame you got so wet but it doesn't really seem to have affected your enthusiasm for the new ride :)
Glen Affric in the spring seems like a plan, me thinks ;)
A modern meet maybe? A sort of retro back to the future ;)

Re:

and today i cleaned the salsa down after my first run out on it on sunday, only to discover this......

i doubt i even did 20 miles, and they're through the paint on the non drive side..... gutted

in know it happens, eventually, but i have some M952 cranks i've had for years that the paint is still intact on!!

whatever they use to paint these is NOT up to standard if it's rubbing off that easily!

well p*ssed off!

Re:

Oooya, that's nae gid. Is it through to the metal or is it just the lacquer? might be worth having a go with some polishing product like Mantis to see if you can lessen the damage then get some helicopter tape on them to prevent further damage.

Re:

I'm only a size 9!!

aye col, it's through on the non drive side

will get them powder coated and heli taped, should then last a wee while longer!

Haha I feel your pain. When I got my current road bike, before i'd even built the bloody thing up the frameset was sitting on my living room floor when it couped over and hit something chipping the paint in a couple of places Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhh!!

Re:

it's not so much the damage col, it's the frankly p*sh poor quality that irks, i mean, 20 miles, and it's through to the metal?!

if it had happened after 200 miles at least i wouldn't feel so cheated!!
