Naw! Naw! I know when to say enough is enough when it comes to bike bits

Since when!

As for the "bounce" in your life, keep that to yourself.

I bought a tiny ie 12.5" frame gt for my daughter and sold her Marin 24". We ditched the standard 175mm cranks and fitted a set of Shimano 152mm. She loves it. Just need to source some decent front and rear mechs to replace the heavy rubbish fitted as standard. I am thinking about some STX-RC?

i went to 8 speed on the wee one's saracen , so i've got a blinged up m900  but aye , stx-rc is solid enough

Re:

My youngest daughter's first proper MTB with 26" wheels was a wee, might be 12.5", GT Tempest. I put STX-RC cranks, mechs and V-brakes on it. Think I used Sachs/Sram twist shifters though as they work with Shimano.
