And today I did......

Re:

Tonight I had my first go at riding a crit. A few local clubs have an impromptu crit on a Wednesday night, part training part racing. Not the greatest turnout tonight because of the rain but I fair enjoyed it, 4 laps of a 4mile circuit at a fairly high pace, after taking my turn at the front I drifted back little realising the group had shrunk to 3 and I couldn't bridge back to the front pair which left me finshing the last lap and a half on me tod. Good fun and I'll be back over hopefully soon, I think there might be a wee sting in the legs the morra

Re:

You've fairly cranked up the pace and the fitness Klaus , I'm very impressed ! You're putting the rest of us to shame , well me anyway ...

Everybody can put me to shame with all limbs tied behind their back. Whilst leading a group of cyclists at the weekend I ended up leading them from the back, oh the shame

You were putting us to shame long before your recent efforts :) Did you not do an ironman a few years back?

Our local group runs an APR (austrailian pursuit race) every wednesday, quite good because it is handicapped so everyone can improve no matter what their level. I would only help me improve if I actually took part though :)

Re:

Just realised I've been out today on the 1988 Bridgestone wearing tartan shirt, black denims and boots. It just kinda happened. One minute I'm fettling the VW Camper in civvies - the next I'm off out for a spin in the same togs. Eat yer heart out Charlie Kelly :D

Would you believe someone pulled out because he didn't want to get his Muddy Fox muddy?

Phew, good work - the roadster is the only bike I have that's pre 1977 and I don't particularly fancy my chances at surviving 60 road miles on it, never mind that route! Which bike did you use?
