the mech has twisted right round. If you remove the chain, then rotate it, it should click into place. Had this happen on a bike i bought and it took ages to figure out what was wrong, loads of people told me the mech was broke :?
It would have spun round by the box being dropped on the floor.

BTW when it happened to me i claimed compensation on it and got £60! Batter in!

the seller of this Stumpjumper. Took over a week to post, not as described and a 20.5"er rather than a 19". Ah well...lucky I have a tall mate.
No seen a head tube badge/decal like this...its metal I think.
The rear mech isn't very happy.

oddly enogh i received a frame packaged in a similar way last week.

Well it could be a lot worse

I had a frame sent to me here in Tasmania from the UK and it was just loose in a box with no packing at all.

It still came through completely unharmed though.

Better than the frame I bought from a forum member(!) who sent it fitted with the forks , bar and stem, all loose in a box. The damage to the top-tube from the bars hitting it in transit was a nice touch.

Spent a few hours o it today and it is coming up quite nicely. First time I have come across Avid V brakes with these spring tensioners.
It will come up fine no doubt.
