bike frame doesn't look to bad to me, even with those scratches. the rear mech looks like it might be salvageable. as cchris2lou stated, looks to be a pin missing.
 
Dont knock it, it could have arrived like this (this is actually how a BMX I bought last year arrived at my house).

i remember sending a frame recently, when i finished wrapping it looked like a little donkey, my daughter made some ears and eyes for it and we put on a tail too :LOL:
