AMP Spares

Hi guys,

I've just bought an AMP B3 with F4 BLT (I think) forks. I've read that spares are still available for the frame and forks but I'm not having much luck finding any

I remember reading a post on Retrobike a few months back, which gave the email address of a guy called Brian(?) at AMP, who could be contacted and would supply the relevant parts. I've done a search but can't find the relevant post any more :(

Anyone able to help out? I've been assured that the bushes and pivots on the AMP I've bought are all tight and smooth, and don't require replacing. However I also know how fickle the bushes can be on these frames/forks so it won't harm to get a couple of sets of spares!

If anyone could ID the forks for me too, that would be great :)

nice chap to talk with and very helpful - wished other companies would have the same supperior service for their bikes from the 90s ;)

I second the above. Really helpful guy. Shame other companies don't offer as good support for old products, especially when you consider amp don't even make bikes any more.

It certainly makes the experience of owning a bike with a reputation for needing regular maintenance a lot less stressful that's for sure!

I have had spares from Brion a few times, he is very good.
Your forks are F4 BLT, but they have diffrent shocks to the normal (mine are the same as yours).
you can also download the manuals for the forks from the AMP website (i think it is the history section).

yep, Brion is a good guy and will definitely hook you up with what you need if they still have it. and if they don't, he can sometimes offer you specs on off the shelf parts or even part numbers.

nice looking AMP, throw some pictures up so we can admire it, will ya? ;)

[edit] nvm, found your thread.

I was watching the auction on that bike....

Brion is very helpful.

I have had a few spares recently for my B3. Useful to send Brion photos of items you need as he is a busy guy and it saved quite a lot of time.

Ordered seals for my rear suspension damper. It's still leaking oil, so I have to sort that out.

I think I may need to order a pivot bar for my F4 XC forks soon.

If you want to share the postage cost let me know!!

Good luck and enjoy the lightness of the bike.

Thanks for offering to share postage costs - I'd definitely be up for that. I'll send Brion a few pics as soon as the bike arrives with me and might put in an order for a few bits.

Regarding the weight of the bike, how light are we talking? Mine is coming with M900 bits and will soon have a controltech stem and syncros hardcore flat bars.

Never weighed the bike, but when you unpack it and lift it effortlessly with one hand, and also consider how little you paid for a classic full suspension bike, you will be grinning from ear to ear!
