Griffen was a US Made brand that was big in the mid-90's. Mainly known for road and tri frames. Big in Tri frames. Had some wild unique frames. Back in the mid-90's, tons of people decided to try making bikes. Many of them in their garages. Griffen started that way. Everything out of aluminum. That's what most of the smaller builders started with.

They have been gone for a few years now. Never saw a mountain frame from them, but never looked.

Does anyone know if a seal kit from a D1 calliper would work on a Rock Disc Shox version? These are up on eBay at the moment and thought they might be useful.

Only for the piston seals, all the others are bigger in the Rock Shox unit.

Gentlemen, question. I am looking for a medium B4/B5 frame. Somebody might have one, but he enquiries on how to measure it. I looked at plenty of blogs and the old AMP site, but couldn't find any information.

Could somebody please help me?

Hi Eurosquirrel,

The frame itself seems to have come in 3 sizes, and the seat mast came in perhaps 2 sizes,
The B5 front ends and seat masts are the same as the B4 ones, I think.
Here is how I have measured my 3 B4s ( :facepalm: ):



Here are the dimensions (millimetres):



You can see that the head tube length is quite different between the 2 front end sizes which I have:



The Small front end seems to have the same 93mm head tube as the Medium, but has a shorter B measurement, the McPherson strut and the top tine are almost in line (not mine):



There are a few B4s around with distinctly longer seat masts...presumably the large option:





Earlier B4s:
1: do not have the cable guide stamped through the head tube gusset.
2: run welded cable stops rather than the rivnut and clip combos found on later builds.
3: welded aluminium rear stays, whereas the later ones are bonded aluminium or carbon

Reviving an older post as Danson67 (Dan) had his AMP B4 a Mayhem this year.
I have never really been that keen on full suss bikes, but Dan's AMP4 have converted me.
Absoulty stunning and IMHO was the bike of Mayhem for me. Stole the show!

Now on my want list! Another bike! :facepalm:
