Alternatives to Mavic Crossrides?

I'm looking for a cheap pair of 6-bolt disc wheels. I've previously owned Crossrides and they did the job, but are there any others to consider?

Methinks you have high standards because if you did not, a quick trawl through the web would show the foolishness of your question :?

Indulge me, why is it a foolish question?

I was in same situation a few weks ago , and went for the mavic .

Quite a few wheels about with Shimano deore hub but i dont like them .

fulcrum wheels from campage (shimano freehub fit though) get good reviews as do the fsa wheelsets both have sealed cartridge bearing hubs superstar componants use novatech hubs for there wheel builds and are good for the cash or i could build you something sexy for a fair price

just picked up a set of fulcrums, are you saying that i need to swap the freehub over to a shimano one in order to fit my 9 speed cassette? cos it fits! and i can do the retainer up tight!!! but havent got round to fitting the wheels to the frame :?

In the end I picked up a pair of Fulcrum Red Metal 5's. It'll be interesting to see how they fair in terms of true and bearing life. Claimed weight is 100g lighter than Crossrides too.

Sorry TallPaul, reread my last post and it did seem a bit rude. I didn't fully grasp that you were after cheaper wheels of comparable quality to your mavics not just cheaper wheels

Hope you enjoy your new Fulcrums

Good Choice.

RM5s outperform anything in Mavic's range. I'd have gone for them too.
