holy frames batman!

I have just come in from the rain after looking at my Al-mega DX frame. I has a slit in the back of the seat tube to allow tightening o fthe clamp, but defo no hole.

I recall seeing some frames that had a circle at the bottom of the split for some reason, sounds to ne like you have been sold something that was not quite fit for purpose or that has been deliberately witheld from you.

ok guys and girls, hope you are sitting down, its just my guess that the seatpost was stuck and some gorrilla has done this to remove, i can't think of any other reason?

The stuck seatpost arguement doesn't work for me - I don't see how making a big hole would help :?
That is proper trashed though. Did you never wonder what was under that big bit of gaffer tape? As a seller , I'd be refunding the buyer, either for an agreed price of the frame or for the whole lot if he'd rather return it. And I'd be having a word with whoever I'd bought it from.
It's very strange how such a nice looking bike is so mashed up!
Good luck in sorting it and reaching an amicable conclusion.

they used the hole to acess the bottom of the seat post and hammer it out or get penetrating fluid in there
i'd be checking for any other damage myself

how long did you have it before selling it and have you used it much ?

And before selling this frame you never noticed the sacking great hole? Oh yeah right, it was covered in tape..... :roll:

Ed has promised me a full refund on return of the bike, i personally would not dare ride it, it looks worse in the flesh....
