Hi all,
A few projects which never got going. All have issues so I'm looking to move on for cheap... factor in solving problems, perhaps even as spares/repairs.
Yates 531, MS**** frame number matching on frame and forks. Issues are stuck seatpost and bb. I couldn't bring myself to get the heat/caustic on the seatpost, and the bb still has (metal) notches present but I don't have a big enough bar to get on the ratchet. Chrome ends, some surface rust but nothing deep, most apparent on underside of down tube. The seatstays do show signs of someone (not me) trying to pursuade with a screwdriver, but it's not too bad. 56cm centre to centre, square frame. Recessed Allen key fittings 185mm steerer. Saying £40 collected, which can't be far off the value of the forks. Postage £20 more.
Peugeot / Vitus 979, 52cm seat, 54cm top tube (c-c). Comes with strong light headset and Mavic stem (no stem bolt) plus a stuck seatpost which twists but will not pull out. Some evidence that the clamp has been persuaded in the past and the start of cracks (very faint) radiating from seat cluster. Stem won't pull out but I've not tried plusgas or anything. Only other note is that I think, by eye, that the rear mech hanger might be slightly out of Alignment. Can someone rescue this or use it as wall art? £20 collected, or plus £20 postage. Fork/stem/headset (if you can separate them) surely worth that!
Roberts #137 frame only. This would be the 37th Roberts frame made (numbers started at 100) so is quite old. Main issue is that the right hand shifter boss has been removed (presumably to allow use of band on shifter). Fair few areas of surface rust, but would be worth a renovation; I have to consider I don't have the skills or time. C-c seat is about 59.5cm, t-t c-c is 58.5cm. I'd say for a early Roberts this is worth £55 even in this condition, postage again +£20.
Photos to follow - pm me for further details or emailed high-res and extra photos.
