Mish mash of parts, I can't make out if endcap is round or curved but I'd want frame number and pix of 6061 stamp before looking at this.

Guys in cuckoo land £350 with that. If it is a Zaskar it wouldn't take much to make it worth more like that as it has some nice parts.

Re:

You can see the 6061 decals and it does look like a late 90s model.

Price wise it has probably had that spent on it if that alivio was new and New tyres. Sadly for him he's not going to get near that unless he's very lucky. Id guess he should.be aiming for nearer half.

6061 decals are readily available. I meant the 6061 stamped on the droupout.
Could be a 97 on but there's no clear pic of a flat endcap.

Might be kosher but as you say he's never going to get anywhere near that.
Suppose it might be a nice project to finish for someone on here if they can get it for half that.

Not sure it can be a 1997 on those dropouts?

Yes the 6061 are readily available but the positioning looks genuine.

Obviously nobody would touch it without confirming first, but irrelevant at the asking price really.

Re:

Is it maybe this one?

I am about to buy a 2000 Zaskar the party bought the bike in 2000 new,but I suspect it is a 97/98 from my research. He has replaced the shifters(Alivio),front and rear derauilers and new tires.I believe it has judy xc shocks which have not been touched per his word, and says at this moment they are fine. What should I expect in the future as to repairs, and repairing or replacing the judy. This bike will only be used for occasional very light trail riding and some street riding. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you
Jim

With one of the pics you can see it has the machined inner side on the dropouts at the rear of the frame, looks like a 94/95 zaskar to me, end cap did look flat, and would also put the frame in correct dating for it having m900 hubbed wheels!

Re:

Its clearly a 1999/2000 zaskar, hence the dropouts and the rounded end cap... And its been stripped cus they were originally painted.

Good donor bike i guess, i wouldnt keep it as it stands cus its got too much a mish mash of parts and really isnt period spec
