Advice. Been doing DIY again

Artery forceps, or the disgorger things fishermen use. I got a set of six inch forceps and a set 16 inch long with serrated jaws and they are self locking.

They can usually be found in tool shops as they are good for wrangling hoses as well, mine were found in a cheapy tool shop for a quid each, invaluable tools.

Failing that, get a bit of pipe or bar, brush handle even of a diameter smaller than the steerer tube shove it in the tube to make contact with the article and beat hell out of the top of the drift, it will come free, then all you need to do is tip it out or use a mechanics extending pick up claw or magnet to grapple it out.

You can get a flexi attachment for your dremel (if you have one) and that will make short work of it ;)

Alternatively you could prise it away from the edge with a screwdriver and then use a bent spoke to hook it you can then pull on the spoke ends with a pair of mole grips,it will come out :x eventually.

Brush handle and a hammer and tap it through[from either side, whatevers easiest]
If its far enough down not to affect the new one then just leave it in there :?

well, if he can't get it out, he has got something to amuse him on rides when the thing breaks free of it's own accord and starts rattling around inside the tube.
