A video that really annoyed me.

Some of the footage looks really pretty, like the riding through the tunnel at night bit with the empty road. Then they go and do something infuriatingly stupid.

Personally, I've got better things to get annoyed about... like debt, wedding costs, job insecurity and.... WHERE'S MY NEW SEAT CLAMP!!!????

Well when your insurance goes up because you're paying for idiots like these who get hit by cars, it will all add to your debt...but on the upside when they get wiped out there will be more seat clamps going on ebay from the mangled wrecks of whats left of their bikes.

There's a part of me that's irritated by knobheads like this - and also when I take my 3 year old to his children's hospital, and regularly see a trendy fixie locked up, that has no brakes.

I think it's the impact they have on a lot of people (probably mostly drivers) that are already predisposed to resenting cyclists anyways - just makes the whole thing more marginalised.

But then I could probably watch some action movie with this sort of thing in it, switch off my brain (like you would for most action movies) and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of it all.

Off topic, but it's more to do with insurance companies trying to shaft each other, by inflating costs to both increase their revenues, and shaft the competition....
Mate of mine had his 3 series written off, ins company paid out, hire car, all find and dandy, then 6 months later he gets called as a witness in a dispute between his and the other guys insurance company, over costs on a £1500 payout that totalled nearly £10,000, including £6000 for the hire car for 2 weeks.... And it was only a Golf!
Basically, because they know the claim will be paid by the 3rd party insurance, your insurance company smashes them for inflated costs. It guarantees them revenue, and means their competitors get increased overheads.

All this bullshit in the media about uninsured drivers, teenagers, car crime and whiplash is a fallacy. The insurance industry put it out there to cover up their own underhandedness, and we and the media just lap it up

Was even in the house of commons not so long ago, or somesuch

Anyway, back on topic.
I doubt there are any parts on a trackbike/fixie/courier/hipster posing appendage that would even fit my bikes

G ;)

They're having the European Cycle Messenger championships in Edinburgh this weekend. They've been shoved down to the docks and one event they had planned for public roads has been restricted to just a hillclimb instead.

I'll probably go and watch a bit of it when i have time off.
