At Rottingdean, there is now a new cafe called Molly's which served nice cake and tea - it's not known if this establishment currently has the Anthony seal of approval
Well now, we could have found out about that if you had only invited me along that day Dylan! That's quite a decent little ride, you must have had room for a nice piece of cake.

Another good tea shop is the Beanstalk, do you know that one? It's on the coach road to the east of Firle. It's the only tea shop I know that is inaccessible by car, and it's also the only one I know that offers free stabling for your horses while you take your tea! A very worthy establishment, deserving of support.

Well, you have me there, I should have put it up on the board. :) In mitigation, we arranged to start early and only agreed it the previous eve, m'lud. And yes, it would have been good if you were there.

The route was here, for anyone interested: http://www.strava.com/activities/131474281
We could run it again sometime.

Anyhow, no, not tried the Beanstalk, though it will now be on the to do list, do try the new Rottingdean establishment as you may like it :)

Edited to add: I did mention this ride on Tues, here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=293412

Decent but all too brief loop yesterday, found a couple of new paths to link a few bits together and cut out one section entirely. If I had more time I'd have messed around Selsdon more. Still very boggy in some parts, especially miles 4-6 and 12-13 but WAY better than at Christmas were I barely got out of the granny ring.

Here's the road version'ish, going in the same sort of direction. Was a great weekend for being out and about:

Met group at Storrington bike shop last night . Good turn out , 74 in all
I went in medium group , on my fabulous ferrous Fisher ! Not only the only steelie , one of only a few with 26" wheels . Nice easy ride , for me at least ;)
Pretty dry too , unlike today :(

Where did you ride to Mike, how far? What's the group you went with ? Sounds like a regular thing.

Wet and windy morning to ya ;)

It's a regular 'first Wednesday in the month ' ride from South Downs Bike shop

Went from the shop , up Chantry Lane , left along SDW , across A24 right , along bottom of hill , up to Cissbury/Chanctonbury track , right again to Cissbury , down across A24 at Findon Valley , straight across , up Bost hill for a few hundred metres , right , up to top of Salvington , right , across Long Furlong kept going north to SDW , left then back down Chantry Lane . To burgers and pi-- , er I mean lager (for some) , chocolate and flapjacks for me

Mike, they also have a curry after the ride quite often too, from the Cottage Tandoori just across the road, which is my favourite curry house of all time, just to let you know....
