A cheap easy solution for extending steerer length

An ahead / quill converter does the exact same thing. Personally I would buy and use one of those (from say Deda or Acor) rather than anything from Aliexpress.

I love my teeth.
Was thinking of getting that too, this looks a little lighter though. I reckon they’re all from the same factories and just rebadged and painted, infact your possibly paying extra for the paint and cardboard. Anyway I’ve ordered one now. I’ll post up a picture Once installed

I would not save weight on stem quills or fork steerers, fork legs etc..

They look totally different from the Deda or Acor ones.

Yes, sometimes they are the same thing rebadged. Often the fact they look similar simply due to being a copy.

Just remember: light, strong, cheap..pick two.

Sorry I mean’t these look the same:

I’m not fussy paying more for something of better quality, just haven’t seen the same design being employed. I reckon it’ll be alright, seems to use the same idea as those expander plugs.
I’ve seen people using those other 5-10cm extenders (on this site) . I only want 2cm added. Check out this link, it looks to be the same thing as what I got https://www.velobike.co.nz/products/steerer-tube-extender equivalent to 50 quid!

The linked one from NZ is a conical expander type, not a sliding wedge like the AliExpress one. It's what you need specifically for carbon steerers.

It's like going into a BMW dealer and demanding the Hyundai price as both have four wheels.

***update*** Ok 😅 so after installing this thing. First, it ended up giving me, perhaps, 1cm extra height. The top part of the adapter is acting like a star nut, so your headset needs to be positioned higher…. Ok. Next, the part that locks into the steerer indeed stays in position once tightened, however, the bolt that tightens and locks it into place loosens. I used it for about 10 days, no problems and pretty solid, but today it started to loosen. Developing a noticeable play in the headset. This adapter has 2 parts locking up inside the steerer. The top part is the weak spot.

In short.
This doesn’t work long term.
I bought a crappy RS judy just to get the crown with the longer steerer.

End.
