Good luck with this Mike, the one my mate had that we chatted about, is still on top of the wardrobe - he decided he'd probably like to keep it! Guess who's 'storing' it still though....

Personally, I'd go for very pale blue but then I am biased (the Kona is that colour...)

Hi Kaz ;)

I did wonder about that colour, and remember your Kona in those colours, but I dismissed it early as being a bit too girlie for me.
It's gonna have black wheels, stem and seatpost, so a lighter colour would be best I think.

Hi all,

Had a 'mare , to coin a current phrase, with this frame today .
As I mentoined previously, a friend has kindly offered to re-finish the frame for me, as long as I take off the paint I'd applied, as it would have reacted with his work.

So today I thought I'd get off my paint and tidy it up, ready for its' makeover. I used cellulose thinners. Bad idea. :(
It took off the paint I'd applied easily enough, and with a bit of scrubbing was starting to return to its previous, scruffy look in which I'd got it. Unfortunately, it also took off in places, some of the plasticky top clear coat underneath. Started using sandpaper then wet and dry paper to try and feather it out, but its taking ages to do just a little bit of the headtube, and still isn't coming up very well either :(
Although generally a patient person, I don't have either the patience or the motivation to do this to the whole frame .
So now what to do. :? Really not sure. And ideas out there? Please be kind ,

ta

How bad is it? Dremel? Orbital sander?

Not sure what a Dremel could do, and an orbital sander would just take more of the clear coat off I think mate, just creating more work for myself.
Having put a lot of effort into it so far, I just don't have the heart to do much more.
Would a Dremel cut through it so I could put it in the wheelie bin?

He wants a key for his paint no? Take it all back with the sander. Start fresh.

Re:

I was thinking decoupage, matt black or bin. Seriously.
