'97 King Kikapu seatpost size/issue

Retro Newbie
Any chance anyone knows the correct seatpost diameter for the 1997 King Kikapu? Had this bike for a pretty long time, just went to swap the collar and noticed it's pinched pretty badly. It came with a 27.0 post, same as all my other '97s, and has more than enough insertion length. I've never moved the post, and never thought to check 😞. Luckily there's a few of the old guard builders around so I'll take it in and see what my options are, but can't seem to find original size info.
Thanks

27.0 from the spec sheet. From the pictures it looks like someone has tried to insert a larger post and deformed the tube, would explain why you are haveing to pinch it up to clamp the right size post now.

Sorry didn’t manage to get up the attic will try again tomorrow but I’m sure it’s 27mm also

But yeah as above someone’s jammed something in there real shame too, if it does become toast would be interred in linkage as always handy to have spare :C

Awesome, thanks very much for all the help. I was sure it's 27.0, but someone must've tried hammering something massive in there once upon a time because the collars really pinched down to get it back to 27. Still can't believe I never noticed it. I'll cross my fingers it's not too far gone.
Thanks again

Sorry its been such a nightmare last 2 nights haven't braved the cold attic lol im going to go with its just 27mm :p

Yeah, that seems to be the definitive answer. Thanks for the offer and all the help. As soon as I have a minute to myself I'll pack it and the seatpost up and take it in. The frame guys said they'll check it over and do what they can for me.
I'll let you know how it turns out 🤞🏻

An update on the seat tube, just got it back from the shop the other day and there's no structural damage 😅. Not out of the box factory, but structurally sound and safe to ride as intended. Turns out it wasn't an oversized post that caused the issue, but an over height buddy that had run it with the post too high 🫤, was the first question the metal guy asked and my heart sank when I remembered who I'd lent it to, I never thought to say don't raise the seat too high. I've put in a longer post, but won't be lending my vintage bikes out any more, certainly not if they're out of eye sight, was kind of dumb now that I think about it, was pretty worried I'd have to take it apart and hang it on the wall.
Thanks for all the help and input, this is a pretty awesome retro resource and community as I lurk around in the background. I'm not much for on-line posting, but maybe I'll put up my 12 Kona's of Christmas. It might not be quite 12, and totally nothing anyone hasn't seen before, but it's always fun seeing everyone else's, and kind of fun collecting and riding them.
Thanks again,
Merry Christmas from this side of the Commonwealth
