'96 RTS-3 Rehab

Because I can, lol. .025 is good enuf for me. Also I saved the org boot bottoms that lock into the top of the shock. Filled them with RTV and they set well. I'm not sure I like the accordion covers but I can cut them off and still have the org seals. Well, they are seals now.
But it is done. 1st sunny day I'll take some pics

Pics. Rides pretty well, a couple of minor adjustments as the cables stretch out. I used the cable protector/sleeves on the exposed runs.... what do you think?

looks mint. jealous of your alloy rear end. mine broke and i had to replace it with an ugly steel one. if you want to buff it to factory shine I reccommend mothers mag and aluminum on a white rag

That is actually paint. It's called Diamond Dust, It's the closest I could get to what was on there.

any reason to paint versus polish?
Only that it was painted when I bought it. Whether that is factory original I have no idea. Everything on it right now is how it came except for cables and tires, though they are the same brand tires too. WTB Velociraptor 2.1x26. I mean there are new reflectors and the shock boots but all the main ingredients are original, to me.
Every nut, bolt, washer and bearing has been cleaned and greased where needed. Even the cassette hub. The only thing I did not touch was the BB. I found no slop at all and it never gave me any problem in the 6+ years I have had it.
