93-95 Kona Hei Hei with P2 ti fork

Apeman

Kona Fan
I recently upgraded from my mid 90's Kona Hei Hei with the rigid P2 ti fork, and was wondering what the market was for this bike. I am not a huge vintage bike enthusiast, but I do enjoy riding around on the bike with my kids. If there is a good market for this sort of thing I would gladly sell it, but if not it can stay in the basement.

Thanks
Will

Re:

I can picture the Kona addicts scratching their heads now. An upgrade from a Hei Hei ? :?

hahah. Was wondering how quickly the list would start...even without any mention of how long the steerer is or what the frame size is.. ;)

I would take your time mate to price this.... there will be a big list of people in contact.

Forks are probably worth more than the frame to the right buyer... frames go from £250 to over £800 depending on the condition, size, year

Forks, if they are genuine ti(i mean no disrespect as the standard ones are a similar colour and you have admited that your not a huge vintage bike enthusiast).. are very rare.

if its a complete bike inc also a TI stem.. your into mega money.

Pictures would be a good start.

....and well done for actually getting your first post of "how much is it worth" in the right section!

Re:

Yep, put my name down on the list of interested buyers for frame, fork, frame & fork, whole bike pending size, pic's, price etc. etc. etcetera :D

Frame is 19.5 I believe. I am 6 feet and it is a tad on the small side, but fit great in high school. The frame and fork are original parts, but the rest of the bike has been pieced together over the years as different parts broke down.

Thanks for the responses
Will

Re:

Very nice!

Looks like a 19" according to the serial number (can just make out what appears to be B19)

...and that fork

Nice 1994.. I would get it all polished up and do some better pics. Be nice if you still have the canti collar in your tool box

You may as well strip it to the frame and fork and sell the rest. I doubt anyone's paying attention to the half thumb shifter half gripshift setup. ;)

http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... mp;t=51862Some more reading for you.

For me frame only in good condition with no dent etch I would be wanting £400 plus. Possibly more if you can clean the frame up and all the stickers are good.

The forks.. Suggested price in a 2009 discussion was $800-1000 dollars... But that was in 2009 so can't imagine prices are going down.

There are a few more titanium p2 threads if you search.
