First item to get cleaned up was the chainset

Not wanting to polish them or change their finish so opted for a gentle clean and strip. Trying to retain the patina whilst removing any rust or grime.

Next up was cleaning of small parts , mechs and forks/stem

I considered having the forks and stem painted but it’s the same issue as always. If you start chasing perfection on one part it looks odd so decided to simply clean the rebuild.

Frame has been hand Polished and has come up a treat. Working around the decals takes time but is worth it to retain them. Not going for perfection as that means starting with wet/dry and decals off but simply some metal polish.

Pics don’t do it justice as it’s a really nice condition frame.

Two maxims I live by;
Always wear sunscreen
&
Do not touch it with shoe polish

GT measured C-C, so a 20" measures 22.5 C-T

Wheels done this morning. Didn’t need much to be fair as the grime had preserved them well.
